What do you do?
As a Social Media Executive, I highlight individual stories that are found within the work of our clients. A big part of this is helping the experts establish themselves to a wider audience where they can build up a steady following of people who will benefit from their insights.
Working closely with the rest of the social media team and with people across the office, I keep our content engaging and effective. I most value humour and honesty, preferring people who are unapologetically themselves. Social media is a great opportunity for authenticity as it can help you stand out among the people who try to hide or create fake lives online.
Tell us a bit about yourself
My marketing career started with an apprenticeship, which was great for me as I learnt many skills, like SEO and email marketing. During this time, I started doing public speaking at networking events, which massively boosted my confidence.
After this, I moved on to do some internships and eventually started freelancing, where I worked with a wide variety of businesses from Estate Agents and law firms to jewellers. Throughout, I was able to work with multiple business owners and directors, as well as influencers, where I coordinated photoshoots.
When I joined Imagine That, back when it was JE Consulting, the experience that I had gained in my career up to that point translated really well. There is a risk with professional businesses that their marketing, especially their social media, will be quite dry and lifeless. I like bringing the energy into the work that I do so that it stands out and connects to people.
Being part of Imagine That has allowed me to grow my marketing skills and improve my confidence. I have built genuine friendships with colleagues to the point where we now go to pub quizzes together and meet up outside of work.
What do you enjoy outside of work?
Socialising and shopping… but most weekends you’ll find me on the benches at Albert Schloss. I also love travelling and always aim to visit three new countries a year.
